If you want to measure moral and humanity values such as tolerance, brotherhood and acceptance of others in any society, you have to observe responses, comments and discussions in social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.

Saudi society deals with challenges and crises facing it as any other community. But we face a very serious case in dealing with modern media where subjectivity dominates most of the comments and hashtags which are posting by some militant people in the society. It is getting worse when some intellectuals, scholars and preachers engage in such sectarian discussions!

Internet and various modern technology give the opportunity for people to communicate with each other, but misusing such means led to the spread of violence, extremism and fanaticism. Social networking has become a platform to instigate hatred and sectarianism.

Unfortunately, there is no respect or understanding for differences or other's point of view in social networks.

Abuses in social networking are serious crisis which need to be addressed, therefore the state has to enact a law criminalizing violations in Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
